Celebrating Women's History Month 2013

Can You Name Your Grandmothers?

Here's a great way to kick-start your personal history. Can you name your grandmothers? I mean can you tell their full maiden name? For most people, it's a challenge, and it shouldn't be! And what else can you tell about each woman? Do you know when and where she was born? What else do you know about her life? Here is a Name Your Grandmothers flyer. Sit down and fill it out with your family and talk about it as you go. Call your relations if you think they can help you fill it out. Hang it up on your office door or your refrigerator for the month of March. Make copies and hand them out to your friends and family. Just this simple activity is an important step in remembering the women who often get lost in paternal-based family histories. Make sure your grandmothers are remembered!

And if you need help, please contact me. During March, I will provide free lookup services to help anybody name their grandma!
